The Friends of Parish School
'FOPS' is the Parent Teacher Association for Parish CofE School, Bromley, Kent.
Our main objective is to raise money to buy the extras - playground equipment, stage lighting and sound...
But it is also important that we:
- entertain the children
- involve parents in school life
- serve as a social group for parents
Film Quiz
Friday 17th May, 2013
Are you a film buff? Do you watch films 365 days a year? Come and join this adults only night of cinema, bring your own bottle and we provide the hot food. Please use the letters/forms that were sent out in bookbags to buy your tickets. All requests must be in by Friday 10th May placed in a clearly marked envelope in the black FOPS box in the front porch of the school. If you don't have a team of 8 yet we can help just let us know on the form. There will also be a raffle with an exciting prize for all your film-watching needs. Cake Sale

The next FOPS cake sale will take place on the Friday before the half term break. Please bake or buy cakes and biscuits to donate and we will be out side the school selling delicious treats at reasonable prices! All money raised goes directly to fund a project at the school. Parish Picnic
Saturday 15th June, 2013
This is a chance for Parish families to get together for a relaxing afternoon on the school field. Bring a picnic and we will provide outdoor games such as Giant Jenga and cricket and the children can let off some steam in the lovely open space we are so lucky to have. This is a social event but also a fundraiser for the school at only £5 per family. Last year's Jubilee Picnic was a great success!
Summer Fair

Our annual Summer Fair is the biggest FOPS fund raiser and this year has a BEACH theme! With lots of stalls such as the more traditional Coconut Shy, Arts & Crafts and Sweet & Toy Tombolas as well as activities like the Surf Ride, Bungee Run, Hook-a-Duck and Splat-Rat all out on the school field, as well as a BBQ, bar and ice-cream van and a Punch and Judy Show this promises to be a really great day. BUT WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP to make it even more fantastic. The more parent/carers who can help the more enjoyable it is for all; if you can man a stall with a friend or help serve refreshments please contact Liza Hodges at liza.hodges@yahoo.co.uk URGENTLY!
School Disco

A popular event at our school, to round off the Summer Term! We provide a disco for every year group at Parish. Reception and Year 1 Class Reps
We are pleased that so many Reception and Year 1 Parents have volunteered to liaise between the parents of these classes and FOPS. The Class Reps are essential to filter any information about FOPS events, to ask for parents to take part as helpers and just to encourage families to come along and have fun as part of our thriving Parish school community! After the last FOPS committee meeting this has got off to a flying start!

Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Raffle
Friday 22nd April
The Egg Hunt was a hit! The children loved it and we would like to say a special thank you to all our helpers especially our new Reception parents who came along for the first time.
The Big Fun Walk
Friday 15th March
This sponsored walk was the first time in recent years that FOPS have tried an event like this and it was not as well attended as we would have hoped for but we still managed to raise an amazing £170! Half of the funds were contributed by one family alone and we are really grateful for their massive effort for the school. Other parents who were hoping to come but could not make it gave us their £10 donations anyway which was also very generous, so THANK YOU! We are hoping to do another Walk at the beginning of next term, to encourage Parish parents to get together, have a chat and do some gentle exercise whilst raising valuable funds for their school.
The Headmaster's Quiz

This was our most well-attended quiz EVER with 137 parents, family and friends of the school. Thank you to everyone who came and took part with so much enthusiasm! The Parents Group for FOPS who organised the whole event did a really brilliant job and we managed to raise £827.13 after expenses to go towards resources at the school which is an amazing achievement with £257 going to charity from the interval raffle. The quiz itself went down well with Mr Richardson providing something for everyone and competition was high with so many teams taking part. Well done to all!
Cake Sale

Thank you to everyone who kindly donated cakes and biscuits for the sale. This is always, literally a bun fight but we managed to raise a huge £190.01. Thanks also to all our parent-helpers and our FOPS team. We aim to have one every half-term so look out for posters and come and enjoy delicious treats at reasonable prices!
